3 Linear Model Identification
Note You can specify all property-value pairs in pem as a simple,
comma-separated list w ithout worrying about the hierarchy of these
properties in the
idproc model object.
For more information about validating a process mo de l, see “Overv iew of
Model Validation and Plots” on page 8-2.
You can use
pem to refine parameter estimates of an existing process m odel,
as described in “Refining Linear Parametric Models” on page 3-103.

Example – Estimating Process Models with Free Parameters
at the Command Line
This example demonstrates how to es timate the parameters of a first-order
process model:

This process has two inputs and the response from each input is estimated by
a first-order process model. All parameters are free to vary.
